Our Week April 21-27

Well, this past week was a busy one. Tuesday I had a dentist appointment to get my two cavities filled. They used the numbing stuff this time and it made my cheeks ache. It also did not prevent me from feeling sharp pain as they drilled on one of my teeth. But at least the cavities are taken care of and won't turn into problems needing a root canal. As of May 1st I will no longer be on medicaid. So, it is good that I did all sorts of preliminary prevention so that there are no big problems while I have no insurance.

Wednesday I went to the dermatologist, he gave me a few more pointers, told me to moisturize within 3 mins. of washing my hands, and to double rinse all of my clothes. He also told me to use Vanicream lotion, which is only sold at one store which is on 6400 So. and 240 E. How convenient. : The silly thing is that he told me before to use Cetaphil and Cetaphil brand lotion has sweet almond in it, but the soap is ok. Vanicream soap however has coconut in it, but the lotion is ok. HELLO, SHOULDN'T ALL OF A BRANDS PRODUCTS BE CONSISTENT? So now I have to buy Cetaphil soap ($4.00 a bar) and Vanacream lotion (a twenty min. drive plus who knows how expensive, oi!). On top of those things I have a prescription for a more medicated lotion to help with the extra dry spots. Oh, and the Doc. wants me to switch to cheer free detergent. The good thing about that is that it is gentle enough for Aiden too. Speaking of Aiden, little rashes are starting to pop up on him too. Poor little guy is going to have my dry skin and possibly even cradle cap. :( Darn genes.

Thurs. Brandon and I attended The Producers at P.T.C. But I already wrote about that so you can read it in the previous blog. You can also read about my Mom's Club interview in that post.

Some other things that happened this week are that Brandon got his invite to his 10 year reunion and he forwarded it to me. It is to be held at Little America. This is cool. I am all about reunions and seeing what people have accomplished and how they have been since our last meeting. I don't know why I enjoy it so much but I do. Anyway, it costs $42 a person by May 5th and $47 after. Where in the world is a new family with limited funds supposed to come up with that kind of money?!?! Oh right, by the 10 year reunion you are supposed to be successful and rich right? HA! Well, I don't know if we will be attending Brandon's but it caused me to go the the Alta High School site to see if I could at least update my contact info. so that I would get the invite to my 10 year reunion. (We should start saving up now don't you think?) Anyway, I am now registered as Alta High Alumni and have found that there is a class of 2000 blog (the link to that is on my blog roll). I don't want to miss my 10 year reunion, especially since there was no 5 year reunion.

Yesterday was fun too, we helped with court clean up and then got to eat part of a HUGE sub sandwich. YUM! In the evening we had a dinner group with two of the families in our ward. It was a lot of fun and good conversation. As we were preparing for it my friend Charissa showed up for a party at our next door neighbors. She popped in for a moment to squeeze Aiden a bit (gently of course) and to say hello. It was nice to see her. Today was church (which is always a new adventure now that we have a little one) and every day we go water the garden. Tomorrow we are buying some roma and cherry tomato plants, some jalapeno plants, and possibly some cucumber plants (if there are any left) from some kids in the court who transplanted and cared for them. They are only 25-50 cents per plant and the kids get to keep the money. Cool huh? Well, I better stop writing because this is getting a little long. One last thing, the botanical blog is now viewable but I can't yet get in to add new posts or to edit anything. Have a wonderful week!

I hear ya about the 10 yr reunion issue. I have a co-worker whose 10 yr reunion costs $120 per family ,but only up to 4 people! So what if you have more than 2 kids?! Anyway, my 10 yr reunion is slowly in the works and noone really knows what is going on yet, but hopefully it will be a good one. We did have a 5 yr, but hardly anyone showed up (The entertainment didn't even show up). Oh well, at least it was free. :D

Keep posting :D You have at least one faithful reader! Also, hopefully we can meet Aiden someday, he sounds like a little stud.
